NiTi retreatment files are used to remove the gutta percha, carrier-based obturators or filler paste before reshaping of canal. The procedure is same to remove carrier-based obturator or gutta percha alone.

Create a pilot hole with stainless steel hand file access the obturating material. solvent, heat treatment or, ultrasonic instrument will help in accessing
STEP 3:
Follow straight line access
Press the spinning WR1 into the obturating material (Heat and friction will help remove the obturation material
STEP 4:
Use the WR1 to remove the obturation material from the coronal 1/3
NOTE: Throughout the procedure, remove the instruments, inspect and clean the flutes & reinsert.
