Light cure radiopaque composite for anterior & posterior bite raise in orthodontics
Waldent Blue Bite-Blockis a visible light cured, radiopaque highly filled composite restorative material for raising the bite in anterior and posterior restorations of all teeth. It is a highly crosslinked polymeric material composed of a mixture of two or more macromolecules that are essentially insoluble.
Temporary bite-raising or bite-opening is often needed in patients undergoing orthodontic treatment, such as in deep overbite and/or crossbite cases. Bite-raising is used to prevent the brackets from being sheared off, and to eliminate occlusal interferences, allowing unobstructed tooth movement.
The bite blocks are used when bracket interference makes it difficult to bond the mandibular anterior and posterior teeth's at the start of the treatment. Earlier bite planes were used in class II division I and division II cases for the correction of deep bite with moderate overjet.
